Attendees include people with lived experience, carers, third sector organisations including charities, voluntary and community groups, as well as Statutory Services, who work within Carmarthenshire and/or Pembrokeshire.
The forum provides a space for updates on member activities, a sharing of views around current relevant local, regional or national events, policies, and issues in relation to mental health, endeavouring to bring clarity and understanding, as well as provide opportunities to share learning and to encourage joint working.
The forum also provides an opportunity to inform members of any training and funding information that is available. Some members opt to deliver a presentation about their organisation and services so as to provide more detail and these are then scheduled in over the year.
Also, on occasions, external speakers are invited to give presentations to the forum on various topics. In the past, these have included representatives from Public Health Wales, DWP, Welsh Government etc.
Content is similar to that mentioned above in the Carmarthenshire & Pembrokeshire MH Forum but pertaining to Ceredigion.
This forum may be amalgamated into the Pembs and Carms MH Forum later in the year to be renamed the West Wales Mental Health Forum.
Members meet as a large open event, on Zoom, and at different outdoor sites/venues. Members are able to share about their organisation’s activities and services, and network with each other.
The forum also opens opportunities to discuss upcoming training and funding opportunities. On occasions, external speakers are invited to deliver presentations to help educate and inform.

The Network will enable organisations to work together to improve mental health support across Wales. The Network will enable organisations to join together to work to influence national work by bringing together a range of local and regional perspectives and experiences.
The Network is jointly Chaired by West Wales Action for Mental Health (WWAMH) and Cardiff and the Vale Action for Mental Health (CAVAMH). This Network builds on the work of a previous Network called Mental Health Action Wales Network which stopped in 2014.
The Network works closely with the Wales Alliance for Mental Health – an all Wales Alliance of national mental health organisations. The Wales Alliance for Mental Health (WAMH) comes together voluntarily as national Mental Health organisations to work on common areas of improvement and interest. It is very helpful to have an equivalent structure for local and regional organisations.
