Service User and Carer Involvement

Our Involvement

WWAMH supports and facilitates a number of service user led networks across the Three Counties.

WWAMH also facilitates the recruitment of a number of service user and carer representatives for the various planning and service development groups.

We also organise and facilitate the Three Counties Mental Health Carers Network. This meets every three months and is for carers of people with mental health problems. It helps the voice of carers to be held in service planning and improvement.

Regional & National

We currently support 7 service user and carer representatives on the Regional and National Mental Health Partnership Boards from across the West Wales area.

This is the multi agency Board which plans mental health services and strategy for West Wales. We also support a number of representatives on other groups such as the Mental Health Act Monitoring Committee.

Our Support

We support service users and carers to:

  • Participate on key decision making partnership “Boards” and other delivery groups
  • Make a difference in helping to monitor the delivery plan for the Mental Health Measure
  • Guide and inform decision makers on individual and carer needs at local and national levels
  • Participate in representing local groups at national level help get the message back to people in local areas

The current service user and carer representatives are interested in hearing from people about their views on mental health services and how support can be improved.  The representatives are also happy to come and speak to groups and organisations about their role and the work they do.
